THERESA May's chief Brexit negotiator will collect a knighthood at Buckingham Palace today.
Sir Olly Robbins will be made a Knight Commander by Order of Saint Michael and Saint George – an honour given for extraordinary services abroad – in a ceremony led by the Duke of Cambridge.
Robbins was one of the architects of the old Brexit deal which was rejected by MPs three times last year, a humiliating calamity which helped lead to May's resignation.
Nevertheless, the former Tory leader’s top Brexit negotiator was given the award in her resignation honours last year.

The former director general of the civil service quit from his Brussels role when May left office last summer.
Another member of May's top team, press secretary Paul Harrison, will collect an OBE for political and public service.
