CROWDS will be invited to Dance, Dance, Dance in the Highlands this summer as Nile Rodgers and Chic headline Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

One of Scotland’s most recognisable voices in pop and R&B, Emeli Sande, will also top the bill. Sande first played the festival eight years ago when she was just starting out. Now after racking up more than 340 million video views, three number one UK singles and even singing at the White House for former US president Barack Obama, Sande will take to the Inverness-shire stage as a headline act.

Dougie Brown, event producer at the annual music event, said organisers were “delighted” to announce the two acts as the first headliners.

He went on: “Nile Rodgers and Chic have been at the top of our wish list for many years and we are certain their set will go down as one of Bella’s standout moments. Emeli Sande played the festival’s Grassroots tent in 2011 when she was starting out and to have seen the journey she has been on and to see her come back and headline the festival’s Thursday night will be another special moment at Bella.”

The Read All About It singer is joined on the line-up by Shed Seven, Passenger, Stiff Little Fingers, Tide Lines, Colonel Mustard and the Dijon Five and many more acts.

The festival has also announced its official charity partner for the 2020 event will be When You Wish Upon A Star, which grants wishes to children from four to 17 who are living with a life-threatening illness. Judith King, the charity’s regional fundraiser, said the organisation is “truly honoured and proud” to have the opportunity.

The festival takes place at Belladrum Estate, near Beauly, from July 30 to August 1.
