IF recent Google searches are anything to go by, the General Election result has not, as Boris Johnson had hoped, began the process of healing division across the UK.

The Conservatives' staggering majority result may, in fact, have triggered the very opposite reaction.

A quick look at Google Trends reveals that searches for "how to move to Scotland" spiked to the highest they have been in the past five years immediately following the election result.

The National:

The SNP returned 47 seats in the election, compared to just 6 for the Conservatives, solidifying the notion that Scotland is politically on a very different path to the rest of the UK.

That sentiment was echoed on Twitter, with one user tweeting "I’m devastated for the future of our beautiful country! Maybe it’s time to pack a lot of warm clothes and just move to Scotland?"

We'll get the kettle on.
