Why we do not recognise the right of Boris Johnson to rule us

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is a liar and a fraud who shows casual prejudice against many different groups, including us Scots. We don’t accept the arrogant jerk has any right to rule us. We don’t recognise this government.

Of course, his gang will attack the working class. That’s what Tories, party of the rich, party of the ruling class, party of privilege, do. But this is a dodgy regime, verging on fascism, making false promises to an unstable base. There’s sure to be resistance. We expect, over the next couple of years, class struggle, in a tremendously wide variety of different forms, will develop throughout the UK.

So far as Scotland is concerned, both the justification and the mandate for a new referendum on independence have existed for ages. That existing mandate should be implemented, without hesitation or delay. No, we don’t need Tory “permission”.

Yes, there will be some vested interest crooks in Scotland against holding a new referendum on independence – because they know, this time, they’re liable to lose. We shouldn’t appease these sleekit vested-interest collaborators with the vile Tory regime. If they choose to be enemies of democratic self- determination, as well as enemies of the working class, then they choose to be oor enemies.

THIS nationalist is a bit confused (and open to enlightenment).

Scotland voted 62% in favour of staying in the EU and, some tell us, that figure is now higher.

England voted 53.4% to leave the EU (with Wales at 52.5%).

Now we, in Scotland, say we voted to leave and that vote should be respected and be a basis for us staying in the EU.

Why are we involved in trying to have another referendum, for Britain (which we want out of) to change the English decision?

If we argue (and I do) that we are a nation, we have to, logically, also treat England as a nation; and one that has also made its choice. We must respect their choice!

Since England made a choice, that is a matter, surely, for the English?

Why do we want to suddenly be British and become involved in any campaign to get the English to change their minds?

I know it is very altruistic, for us to be so caring for our Southern neighbours, but they did vote to leave and we didn’t.

We have to separate our right to stay, from their right to leave, as two separate nations have democratically arrived at different decisions.

I certainly don’t like the Southern view, being inflicted on my country and I’d be more than surprised if they are delighted at our attempts to stop them from leaving, simply because Scotland think they’ve made a bad decision!

Let them go and let us stay and let us use the democratic argument we use for our staying and equally let their democratically arrived at decision, be carried out.

However, we would need to be independent of each other for this to be truly brought into operation.

Why then, are we not concentrating on furthering our own independence, instead of helping dissidents in England and Wales bring about a reversal of a democratically arrived at decision?

And, of course, if there is another EU referendum, what happens if the result for Scotland – and for England, is the same?

Do we then decide, we are going for the independence for Scotland option – and if that becomes a good strategy, after a second EU referendum, why is it not a good strategy at this present moment?

None of the above was written before our outstanding election results last night.

Perhaps, addressing these issues now, in relation to an independence referendum, with the emphasis on that, rather than trying to convert the folks down south, who voted to leave the EU, would represent Scotland and its people’s interests, as a more important priority.

Certainly, I am of the view that Scotland’s choice has been made very clear – clearer still, after last night – and perhaps our own people’s view is more important than offering assistance to our neighbours, who have clearly made their choice, as have we.

WITH all but one result to be declared (at the time of writing) the Tories managed to win around 57% of the seats they contested.

We’ve already heard Boris and co crowing about their victory and how this gives them a mandate for Brexit. However, in Scotland their “No to indyref2” campaign failed miserably, losing them over half their seats.

In contrast, the SNP won 81% of all the seats they contested – so, going by the same logic that allows the Tories to boast of their victory – I assume our independence referendum will be along as soon as we want it!
