Strictly Come Dancing: The Final (BBC1, 7.05pm)
HOW different this series of Strictly Come Dancing would have been if Jamie Laing hadn’t dropped out due to injury following the launch show. Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher was drafted in as a last-minute replacement and wowed viewers with a sizzling samba in week one. Ever since then, he’s seemed like the one to beat, but as we reach the final, is Kelvin still looking like the odds-on favourite to lift the glitterball or has he fallen victim to one of this year’s shock results?
Rod Stewart: Reel Stories (BBC2, 9.10pm)
PREVIOUS instalments of this occasional series have seen Kylie Minogue and Noel Gallagher looking back on clips from their career in the company of Dermot O’Leary. However, the star of this latest episode, Rod Stewart, has an even bigger archive to draw from as his career began back in the 1960s. In the comfort of what was once his local childhood cinema, Rod reflects on how he went from being “Rod The Mod” to Sir Roderick Stewart – and there’s also a chance for viewers to see how much his famous hairstyle has changed over the years.
Britain’s Favourite Christmas Adverts (C5, 9.10pm)
FROM cat food to Coca-Cola, stocking fillers to stock cubes, Christmas has provided the perfect opportunity to sell the viewing public everything and anything. Here, Julian Clary remembers the good, the great, and the unforgettable. Bill Oddie looks back at his 1980s Christmas Woolworth ads, and Jason Bradbury remembers how the commercials for Action Man made it the must-have toy of the 1970s. Others looking back include Oz Clarke, Anita Harris, Rustie Lee, Hal Cruttenden and Lucy Porter.
The Sinner (BBC4, 9.10pm)
THE second season of the crime drama reaches a tense conclusion. Julian has gone missing from the foster home and Harry is convinced he has been abducted. However, when police search Mosswood, Vera is adamant that she is not responsible. In the second half of the climatic double-bill, Harry discovers that an eyewitness saw a man arguing with Marin outside the Five Nations motel room, but that Julian was not with her.
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (BBC1, 9.10pm)
IS this show in danger of becoming a victim of its own success? Now, whenever a celebrities’ friends or family receive an odd text, many of them must suspect the star has given their phone to Michael McIntyre.
Luckily though, the charm hasn’t worn off just yet, as this week another famous face hands over their mobile. Plus, three young brothers get the surprise of their lives when they enter what they believe is an escape room but find themselves on stage at the London Palladium to become the Unexpected Stars of the Show.
