SCOTLAND was battered by storms yesterday – and there’s more bad weather to come.

The A1 was blocked in both directions between Innerwick and Skateraw in East Lothian after two lorries were blown over by the wind.

Flooding closed roads in and out of Kinlochard, Stirling, and Dundee City Council’s headquarters were closed due to a power failure.

Campaigners braved the conditions, but with the bad weather set to last into tomorrow, there are concerns that it may affect voter turnout.

Older and undecided voters are amongst the groups who may stay away from polling stations.

However, Glasgow Tory councillor Euan Blockley was backing Stephen Kerr in Stirling yesterday, with Angus North and Mearns MSP Mairi Gougeon “working every minute of this last 48-plus hours” for Fergus Mutch, the SNP’s candidate for Aberdeenshire West and Kincardine.
