RYLAN Clark-Neal presents the second edition of the show in which people with ideas for the perfect festive gift pitch their products. The sellers are given just 90 seconds to demonstrate their product to an audience of 100 potential customers who each hold a voting handset. If the innovators manage to impress at least one of the shoppers, they have the chance to pitch to a panel of three retailers – Amazon Launchpad, Lakeland and JML – who can make a potentially life-changing bulk order. In the last series, Sylvia from Sutton scooped an order with a retail value of £225,175 for her nifty solution for tired, sore feet.

Celebrity Dogs Behaving (C5, 8pm)

DOG trainer Graeme Hall attempts to help three stars whose pets are giving them grief. Denise van Outen is concerned that pampered French bulldog Tilly’s habit of running out

the door whenever she gets the chance puts her at risk. Graeme

also meets rescue saluki Poppy, whose fear of other dogs is stressing out Russell Watson and former England footballer Michael Owen is worried about the consequences if Staffordshire bull terrier Ronnie attacks another dog again.

Giri/Haji (BBC2, 9pm)

JIRO kidnaps Taki and threatens to throw her from a rooftop, so Yuto and Kenzo race across London to confront the yakuza – but the Mori brothers must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to save the girl’s life. A dejected Rodney tries to seek solace by returning to his childhood home, while Hayashi visits Fukuhara and convinces him to attend the peace meeting between yakuza families. Conclusion of the crime thriller.

What Makes a Murderer (C4, 9pm)

In 1993, Anthony Powell was working as a gang enforcer in south London. One night he was sent to collect a debt and shot a man dead with a sawn-off shotgun. He was convicted of murder and served more than 21 years behind bars. Now, in an episode focusing on the factors behind gang crime, Powell undergoes biological and psychological tests to determine whether he truly had control over his actions or if a combination of hidden factors made him destined to kill.
