THE BBC News website's "Who should I vote for?" policy guide has been telling voters in Scotland the incorrect party leaders, it has emerged.

The service allows users to put in their nation and select a party based on their location - it then informs them who the leader is, and their top priorities, before linking to the official party website.

When you select Scotland, then Scottish Conservatives, Scottish Liberal Democrats or Scottish Labour, you are given the names of the UK-wide party leaders.

However, the Scottish Greens and Scottish National Party leaders are correct.

The National:

The mistake was highlighted by a reader, who said: "I thought it strange that the Scottish branches of the national parties didn’t have their Scottish leaders identified by name.”

The BBC, Scottish LibDems, Scottish Labour and Scottish Tories have been approached for comment.
