A PERTH band play a headline show tonight after building up a worldwide listenership of around 2300 in just four months.
Post Ironic State, pictured above at Glasgow King Tuts, take their noirish new wave to Sneaky Pete’s in Scotland’s capital before dates with Tiderays and KURO next month.
The quintet mix Cultish guitar riffs with stylish synths to winning effect on What The Hell Is Going On?, their June-released debut single after first getting together at the beginning of the year.
Frontman Jai McCann, whose rich, quivering baritone will woo fans of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis and Interpol’s Paul Banks, describes the track as “a song for people who have been in love, but have never been loved”.
The coming weeks see the momentum continue with the mid-December release of wintry new single Revelation.
A tour with Fife punks Messed Up Youth follows in the new year, with another track, the tightly-wound Beck and Call, scheduled to coincide with a headline tour.
