THE First Minister demonstrated her ceilidh dancing skills today as she met with the SNP's candidate for Dumfries and Galloway.

At Lochside Community Centre, Nicola Sturgeon and General Election candidate Richard Arkless took part in what appears to be a version of the Circassian Circle dance.

The constituency's MP is currently Scottish Secretary Alister Jack, who took the seat from the incumbent Arkless.

Arkless is hoping to regain the position at the December 12 poll.

The ceilidh wasn't Sturgeon's first time having a dance since the election was announced. Last week, the SNP leader was spotted in the south side of Glasgow dancing to Pharrell's Happy with pupils from Pollokshields Primary.

The pupils took part in outdoor dance workshops in the area led by "dance activist" Kate E Deeming as part of the Dance International Glasgow festival organised by Tramway.
