ALEX Salmond is set to appear in the high court next month for the preliminary hearing of his trial.
The Former First Minister has been charged with a total of 14 offences, including allegations of attempted rape, sexual and indecent assault and breach of the peace.
He denies all allegations.
The trial is expected to be scheduled to start before a jury at the High Court towards the end of January, with a preliminary hearing taking place on Thursday 21st November.
For his high court case, Salmond has instructed the leader of the Scottish bar, Gordon Jackson QC, the Dean of the Faculty of Advocates, and Shelagh McCall QC.
On Monday, a Crown Office spokesman confirmed the hearing would take place next month.
He added: “The case is active in terms of the Contempt of Court Act.”
