SUPER Mario was in Glasgow to invite video game fans to a big event in the city next month.

Glasgow Gaming Market at Glasgow Club Bellahouston, in Bellahouston Park on Saturday, November 9, is thought to be the first event of its kind in Scotland and is expected to attract up to 2000 people. Tens of thousands of classic and modern video games will be on sale, including favourites from years gone by.

Organised by Replay Events – the team behind the UK’s biggest gaming markets and the popular PLAY Expo conventions – the event will feature 100 tables and 30 traders selling up to 100,000 sought-after video games and items of merchandise.

Andy Brown, of Replay Events, said: “Retro gaming is super hot just now with a huge interest in video games of years gone by.

“Everyone has their favourite games from back in the day and there’s a huge interest in rekindling the enjoyment they got from playing these games.”
