TWENTY-FIRST century technology is being used to make key features of Scotland’s historic Rosslyn Chapel more accessible for people with visual impairments.
Three of the chapel’s best-known features – the Apprentice Pillar, the Mason’s Pillar and a Green Man carving – were digitally scanned in the summer as part of an ongoing partnership between Rosslyn Chapel and Historic Environment Scotland.
A series of 3D prints, produced from these scans, has now been completed and will become part of a handling kit for visually impaired visitors.
