NICOLA Sturgeon had a simple message for the Tories at FMQs today: “Shame on you.”

The First Minister tore into the opposition after Scottish Conservative Graham Simpson’s attack on the SNP backfired.

The Central Scotland MSP said: “With just 35 days to go until Brexit, isn’t it time that councils in Scotland were just given the money they need instead of being made to jump through bureaucratic hoops?”

The First Minister drew roars of laughter from the chamber as she replied: “No wonder Jackson Carlaw’s staring at his phone right now.”

The hysterics soon subsided, however, as Sturgeon began an impassioned critique of the Tories for imposing Brexit on Scotland “against our will”.
