BORIS Johnson was left stunned after the father of a sick child confronted the Prime Minister on the Toires’ management of the NHS .

The man, a father of a child being treated at the Whipps Cross University Hospital, gave a scathing critique of the Tories as Johnson visited the north-east London site.

The father said there had been “years and years and years of the NHS being destroyed” and told the Prime Minister it was “not acceptable”.

He said: “There are not enough people on this ward, there are not enough doctors, there’s not enough nurses, it’s not well organised enough.

"The NHS is being destroyed, and now you come here for a press opportunity."

Johnson claimed “there’s no press here” but the father was able to point to BBC cameras filming the heated conversation, which lasted for around two minutes.

He added: “What do you mean there’s no press here, who are these people?”

The PM said he was “here to find out” about the situation but the man said: “It’s a bit late isn’t it? Years and years and years of the NHS being destroyed.”
