JOANNA Cherry has drawn plaudits from across the UK after she spoke about the Supreme Court challenge against Boris Johnson’s suspension of Parliament .

The SNP MP is a lead petitioner on the Scottish case, which is backed by more than more than 70 parliamentarians.

On appeal, the Inner House of the Court of Session in Edinburgh ruled last week that Johnson’s advice to the Queen was unlawful because it was “motivated by the improper purpose of stymying Parliament”.

Cherry, speaking to Channel 4 News, warned that the failure of the UK Supreme Court to support that view would be an “alarming moment for the British constitution”.
