US ROCKERS Green Day are returning to Scotland three years after bad weather forced them to cancel a headline show.
The band were due to perform in Bellahouston Park in July 2017 but were forced to pull the gig just half an hour before gates were due to open because of "adverse weather conditions".
They’ll be heading back to the Glasgow park, with support from Fall Out Boy and Weezer for “The Hella Mega Tour” on June 24 2020 .
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong had sparked speculation of a possible tour last week, when he left a comment on an Instagram post by the actor Rainn Wilson, tagging Rivers Cuomo of Weezer and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy with two words: “hella mega”.
That led to fans discovering the HellaMegaTour.com.
Three years ago the band said they were "very distraught" to cancel.
They said the stage was deemed "unsafe for the fans and everyone involved".
The band added: "We are very distraught about this as we are in Glasgow now and were very much looking forward to this show as one the highlights of our tour.
"We have been playing in extreme weather conditions throughout this European tour, and the last thing we want to do is see a show cancelled.
"We love our Scottish fans and we don't care if it's raining... sideways, although the safety of our fans and our crew is always our top priority.
"We love you Scotland, we love the city of Glasgow and it goes without saying that we will be back."
Green Day, whose last record Revolution Radio was released in 2016, are expected to release a new album soon.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale on Friday September 20.
