FIRST Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said it "is no longer ridiculous" to think the UK Government would be prepared to suspend the Scottish Parliament.
Following today's news that Boris Johnson will suspend the UK Parliament ahead of the Brexit deadline, limiting time for MPs to prevent a No Deal or get a deal through the Commons, Sturgeon has suggested Westminster could do the same at Holyrood.

"It is no longer ridiculous to say that a Prime Minister that's prepared to shut down the House of Commons wouldn't be prepared to do that to the Scottish Parliament," she told reporters.
Earlier, Sturgeon said today will "go down in history as a dark one indeed for UK democracy".

She also challenged Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson, who has said she would not support a No Deal, to get her MPs involved in efforts to prevent the UK leaving the EU without a deal.
Davidson, along with many other senior Tories, is not doing interviews today.
