INSURANCE risk and commercial law specialist BLM has marked the beginning of its new financial year with 55 promotions across the UK, including two promotions in Scotland.

Kirsty Yuill has been promoted to partner and Kirsteen Picken has been promoted to associate.

Yuill, who was appointed by the firm in 2015, has vast experience in all aspects of insurance litigation with particular emphasis on major/complex loss and emerging risks.

Picken joined BLM as a trainee in 2013. Her experience covers areas including employers’ liability and road traffic claims. She has a particular focus on occupational disease matters and claims made against the railway industry.

Karen Dance, head of the firm’s Scotland business stream and partner at the Glasgow office where Yuill and Picken are based, commented: “Kirsty and Kirsteen are two of 55 promotions that have been celebrated across the firm in 2019 and we couldn’t be prouder of every single individual.

“Following a really positive start to 2019, we are already building on some of the good news from last year. Our newly-promoted partners and associates will be essential to our continued success right across the firm, in all of our offices across the UK, including Glasgow.

“I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside Kirsty and Kirsteen for a number of years and can confidently say they are assets to our firm and truly deserving of these promotions.”
