A LUCKY jack russell terrier has been whisked away from a dogs home to start a new life at a Scots filming location.

Rural manor Hunterston House, which has been featured in Outlander and Jonathan Creek, has seen an array of celebrities walk its halls – but now one-year-old Tess calls the place home.

Her new owner Mary Ross, a housekeeper at the manor, found Tess at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home while on a trip to London and brought her back to Scotland.

It took a few weeks for Tess to settle into her new, stately lifestyle. Ross says the dog was, understandably, “nervous at first”, but has now settled in.

“Tess follows me everywhere like a wee shadow,” Ross said. “If I sit down, she gets straight on my lap.

“Everybody here loves her, she’s such a happy dog, always wagging her tail.”
