THE English Government is very cross because Iran has seized a British-flagged tanker. They chose to seize an Iranian tanker, giving no thought to the fact the Iranians would sure as guns seize one of ours.
The little English navy has no way of protecting British shipping in the Hormuz area. British ships have no option but to pass close to the shores of a country against which the English Government has taken hostile action, probably at the behest of their masters in Washington.

I am no supporter of the repellent regime in Tehran nor of the Syrian dictatorship, but it must be said that Iran had no option but to retaliate.
Only an idiot would not have foreseen this; thinking of idiots, the mind automatically turns to Downing Street.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
