LABOUR MP Kate Hoey has announced that she will not be seeking re-selection to represent the Labour Party at Westminster in the next election.

The pro-Brexit MP wrote "now that the national Labour Party has started the process for the 2022 election I have decided that after 30 years as the MP for Vauxhall I will not seek re-election as a Labour candidate."

She signed off her message by thanking those she had campaigned and worked with over the previous years as a member of the House of Commons.

Hoey will remain in her role as a Labour MP until the next General Election.
