AS well as the All Under One Banner march and rally for independence, there’s a host of events being held across the country by Yes groups.
Dumfries and Galloway Pensioners for Independence are hosting Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp, chief executive of Business For Scotland at the Aberdour Hotel, in Dumfries, on Friday July 5, at 7.30pm, where he will give a talk on the economics and currency of an independent Scotland and no doubt host a question and answer session on these crucial topics.
Teas and coffees will be available and of the suggested £5 donation, all funds will go to supporting the Dumfries and Galloway Mobile Hub – the new Yes hub in a van which is set to tour small towns and
settlements in Dumfries and Galloway.
On Friday evening in Dundee, Out for Independence will relaunch. The LGBTQIA+ campaigning group is relaunching at the Dalhousie Building of the University Of Dundee at 7pm.
Speakers will include Angela Crawley MP, Hannah Bardell MP, and Mridul Wadhwa .
Meanwhile, this is a reminder that Inverurie and Kemnay SNP Branches still have tickets available for their latest friendly get together, and would like to invite Yes supporters to a bingo and quiz evening tonight from 7pm to 9.30pm at The Ashvale Restaurant, Market Place, Inverurie. Included in the ticket price is a delicious Ashvale supper of your choice.
Keep telling us about your events, please.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
