AN urgent appeal has been made for people in the Edinburgh area who are thinking of travelling to Ayr for Saturday’s All Under One Banner (AUOB) march and rally for independence to consider using the bus transport that has been arranged by the Edinburgh Yes Hub.
There are plenty seats available on the bus which leaves the Edinburgh Yes Hub at 31 Lasswade Road at 10am and uplifts at the Murrayfield Hotel at 10.20am, the A8 footbridge at Ratho Station at 10.35am and the Premier Inn at Livingston at 10.50am.

Meanwhile AUOB have confirmed that the march and rally will go ahead as planned along the original route and Ayr for Independence is going all out to make this a weekend festival for independence.

They say: “We have worked incredibly hard over the last few months with local businesses and groups to bring you a feast of entertainment during the AUOB march weekend – we hope you will come and stay for the weekend and experience all the music, comedy, culture and history Ayr has to offer.”
It’s a varied festival. On Friday the Market Inn, 2 Castlehill Road, Ayr, will be hosting a Folk Night plus the launch of the AUOB Songbook, and it’s a free event
Also on Friday, Willie Wastles, 16-18 New Bridge Street, will have a Neil Diamond Tribute Night, while Camerons, 12 Fullarton Street, is hosting comedian Raymond Mearns.
Scottish contemporary band Atlanta will be at the Ship Inn, 36 North Harbour Street, from 8-11pm while Harleys at Nile Court, will have live music till 2.30am. Don’t miss the good food at McFarlanes, 92 Sandgate.
As well as the march and rally, Saturday will have live music at The Wolfe, 13 Beresford Terrace, and the Glenpark Hotel, 5 Racecourse Road.
The Ship Inn at 6 North Harbour Street will have the Travelling Rabbies while Camerons will be having a Scottish theme night.
Willie Wastles will have an 80s night while Harleys at Nile Court will have live music with Bad Boy Boogie till 2.30am.
The fun continues on Sunday as Market Inn at 2 Castlehill Road hosts A Scots Hairst of Poetry & Song.
Camerons will be the meeting place for historic town walks while there will be a folk night at Wellingtons, and live music – including karaoke – till 2.30am.
There is still an ongoing discussion between AUOB and South Ayrshire Council over the exact route but AUOB told The National: “We will now proceed with the procession route as it stands to Low Green.”
