IS there an end to the Tories contempt for Scotland?
Apparently no, as a resurfaced video of Prime Minister candidate Boris Johnson reveals.
In the 2012 video from when he was mayor of London, Johnson said: "We're making the case now to central government for more funding. I'm making the argument to the Treasury that a pound spent in Croydon is far more of value to the country in strict utiliterian calculus than a pound spent in Strathclyde.
"You will generate jobs and growth in Strathclyde far more effectively if you invest in Hackney or Croydn or other parts of London."
Yes, you read that correctly – the former foreign secretary believes to invest in Scotland you must first invest in London.
It is also worth noting that Strathclyde was one of the nine local government regions abolished in 1996.
Surely it would make more sense to spread the cash around Scotland?
