NIGEL Farage was left trapped on a bus in Kent amid reports that people had turned up with milkshakes.

The Brexit Party leader was travelling around the county on a promotional campaign ahead of European elections on Thursday.

But when in Dartford, the former Ukip leader confined himself to his tour bus after reports emerged that three young men with milkshakes had joined a crowd of around 30 people listening to Farage.

According to Kent Live, the men were dressed in black with their hoods up and covering their faces with balaclavas.

Driver Michael Botton told Kent Live: “There are a couple of guys standing over there with milkshakes, they were going to throw them over him.

“But the police are there, we’ve spotted them and now Nigel isn’t getting off the bus.”

Reports suggest Farage eventually emerged from the bus to speak with supporters, but stayed within a metre of the door before quickly getting back on.

The Brexit Party leader was soaked with a milkshake while campaigning in Newcastle on Monday.

The National:

The Brexit Party leader became the latest victim of a protest which has seen other European election candidates such as Ukip's Carl Benjamin and ex-English Defence League leader Stephen Lennon-Yaxley, aka Tommy Robinson, suffer similar attacks.

Northumbria Police said 32-year-old Paul Crowther has been charged with common assault and criminal damage following the incident involving Farage.
