THE UK’s “unluckiest dog” has found his forever home after spending more than 1800 days at a rescue centre.

Star, a seven-and-a-half-year-old Staffie, spent about five years at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home after being found tied up behind a derelict building in 2013.

Star struggled to find new owners as he was nervous around animals and people after his experience, and suffered physical ailments.

Graeme Webb, a photographer from Hawick, heard about Star through the rescue centre’s #FindStarAHome campaign, and after a few visits he and the staff decided they were a perfect match.

The centre’s director of operations, Linsay Fyffe-Jardine said: “To see the way he looks at his new dad with such trust and love makes the long search for Star worth it.”
