BIKERS from the Dunedin Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG) have taken to the road to mark their chapter’s 25th anniversary.

And before they headed for a ride over the Queensferry Crossing, more than 100 of them stopped off at Edinburgh Castle for a photo-call to mark the occasion.

The Dunedin Chapter is best known for Thunder In The Glens, the annual bikers’ rally that attracts thousands of bikers from home and abroad to Aviemore and the surrounding area on the last weekend of August.

Al McAuslan, who edits the chapter’s newsletter, said this was a special year.

He said: “Twenty-five years of riding as a family is something to celebrate.

“The chapter is evolving and growing all the time and we want to continue to move forward together, to grow our presence at HOG events.”

Dunedin will also be increasing the number of events for the Ladies of Harley, a group that includes Scottish crime writer Lin Anderson among its number.
