A SCOTTISH Borders fishing village has installed signs proclaiming it to be "twinned" with Avengers location New Asgard.

St Abbs served as the filming location for the fictional village of New Asgard in the Endgame film.

Scottish Borders Council created the signs which read "St Abbs twinned with New Asgard" to be placed around the village.

The village's lifeboat station was rebranded as the New Asgard Lifeboat Station.

The lifeboat crew, which says it received a "generous" donation from the filmmakers, have been posing around St Abbs with the new signs.

Avengers: Endgame now stands as the second-biggest movie of all time, having raked in $2.188 billion worldwide.
