GLASGOW college students are set to benefit from a renewed deal with a Scottish-based communications company.

Connectivity specialists Exchange Communications is extending its running support for computer networking students at City of Glasgow College, sponsoring the college’s SCQF level 7 and 8 courses.

The partnership means students will continue to have the chance to work at top industry placements within the Glasgow-based company, leading to beneficial industry connections after they graduate.

The collaboration, which was established in 2018, was described as a “resounding success” by Exchange Communications MD, Tom Sime.

“We were very impressed with the calibre of students undertaking industry placements with us and we are pleased to be able to offer them all-important practical experience,” he said.

Sime recently hosted a workshop on in-building telecoms solutions at the college campus, saying the workshop was “another example of how we will offer valuable industry insights as our highly productive partnership continues”.

Roy Gardner, vice-principal for corporate development and innovation at the college, said the workshop provided “first-hand knowledge on the challenges and trends within the industry”.
