LABOUR will support a People's Vote on Brexit under certain circumstances, the party's ruling National Executive Committee (NEC) has decided.
The party rejected a call to campaign for a second Brexit referendum under all circumstances, a policy that had been publicly backed by deputy leader Tom Watson and other high-profile Labour figures.

Instead, Labour will demand a fresh public vote on Brexit if the party cannot secure changes to the Government's deal or force a General Election.
A spokesperson said Labour is the "only party which represents both people who supported Leave and Remain".
Nick Eardley, the BBC political journalist, said pro-referendum Labour MPs seemed fairly happy with the NEC's "fudge".

But MP Bridget Phillipson said Labour had "done the bare minimum needed and I can only hope it will be enough to secure the support of all those millions of our voters demanding the final say on Brexit".
