The pair are also due to speak at the Wellbeing Economy Governments group, which is part of the OECD World Forum, tomorrow.

Iceland has been independent for 75 years and is not a member of the EU.

In February, during an interview with BBC Scotland's The Nine, Jakobsdottir said Scotland too could "absolutely" be an independent country.

Jakobsdottir said: “In Iceland we have 360,000 people so I often get asked when I’m travelling abroad ‘You’re an independent nation, do you have your own language'. So in these issues I don’t think size matters.”
