POLICE have cordoned off an area underneath Glasgow Central train station after a body of a man was found.

Officers were called to the scene below the station’s bridge at around 10.20am. The death is being treated as unexplained.

Police have blocked off the lower level entrance and an area of Argyle Street, with officers stationed at the scene.

Other areas of the station appear to be open as normal.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 10.20am this morning, Monday April 22, police received a report of a man’s body being found on Argyle Street next to Central Station.

“Officers are in attendance and are carrying out inquiries to identify the man.

“A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of death. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
