I’M sorry, I don’t believe Nicola should wait for the “fog” of Brexit to be lifted before she explains her plans for a second independence referendum, and apologies too to Carolyn Leckie, who said we should wait until autumn for indyref2.
Why wait? The Tories and Labour are in total disarray. They don’t know what they are doing. The SNP and the Greens are the only parties that have a clear plan for the future. And as for the new emerging Labour-Tory “Independent Group”, they haven’t figured out what they stand for yet!
If we wait too long for the “fog” to lift it will give them time to regroup and reaffirm their identities. And as for waiting for the fog to be lifted, it would soon be replaced with a “Scotch Mist” of fear that will influence our “I’m alright Jack” brigade” and the “weak willies” who are dithering over independence. Let’s act now. Take the prerogative. The Union is damaging. We need to be free. Shout it from the rooftops! Nicola, stop dithering. Tell Westminster to “haud their wheesht”. Let battle cries commence.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
