Here's your guide to the Brexit motions going in front of the House of Commons tonight as indicative votes...

C: Customs union

This motion, tabled by Tory veteran and EU supporter Ken Clarke would commit the government to negotiate "a permanent and comprehensive UK-wide customs union with the EU".

This means a reduction in checks at the Irish border, but prevents the UK striking independent trade deals with other countries.

Of all the options, this came closest last time losing 272-264, by just eight votes.

D: Common Market 2.0

This, tabled by Tory MP Nick Boles, has received cross party support. It would mean the UK joining the European Free Trade Association and European Economic Area.

The UK would remain part of the EU single market, which means freedom of movement.

In the last round, 188 MPs voted for this plan and 283 voted against.

E: Confirmatory public vote

Tabled by Labour MPs Peter Kyle and Phil Wilson, this would give the public a vote to approve any Brexit deal passed by Parliament, before it can be implemented.

SNP and Labour will back it. Last week this was rejected 295-268

G: Parliamentary supremacy

Tabled by Joanna Cherry, this is a sort-of reset clause. If a deal has not been agreed two days before the deadline for leaving then it commits the government to seeking a long extension.

If Europe says no to an extension, then, on the day before Brexit, MPs will asked to choose between a no-deal Brexit or revoking Article 50 to stop Brexit altogether.

Labour are whipping for all motions tonight except this one, abstaining on it instead.. Expect a fairly sizeable rebellion though.
