YOU might have heard some of the outrage about a new video telling Europeans that Scotland is keeping its arms open.

The short promotional video by Scottish Government-backed Scotland Is Now sends a message to contrast the toxic hostile environment further fuelled by Brexit.

While the Europeans it was targeted at winning over have received it very warmly, it's not been popular with everyone in Scotland.

For example, Scottish Labour MP Paul Sweeney was fuming.

He tweeted: "I believe in working class solidarity across Europe. So let's get on with making credible, class-based arguments for unity, rather than having the Scottish Government use public money to promote smarmy, saccharine, bourgeois tripe like this, that purports to 'speak for Scotland'."

You must be wondering what kind of vile, cringeworthy clip was released to provoke a comment like that.

Brexit is being used to stoke fear and scapegoat EU citizens coming to the UK. Scotland is sending a different message.
