FOUR Scottish companies have reached the shortlist for the £16 billion Heathrow Logistics Hub project.

Babcock Marine Rosyth, Forth Ports, Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Peter D Stirling will now be invited to enter the formal tender process in autumn. Scotland is the only part of the UK guaranteed to host one of the four regional hubs – where components will be assembled offsite – because of a memorandum of understanding between Heathrow and the Scottish Government.

SNP MP Douglas Chapman, who has Babcock and Forth Ports in his constituency said: “I am delighted that Dunfermline and West Fife now has a 50% chance to host a Logistics Hub for the Heathrow expansion project.”
