A SCOTTISH Tory MP has said that food banks are “an example of people being charitable and wanting to support people”.

During a debate in the House of Commons, Colin Clark claimed that the Tories are the party of enterprise and optimism.

The MP for Gordon was aiming his words at the SNP benches at the time, contrasting the two parties.

In response, the SNP’s David Linden asked Clark a tongue-in-cheek question about where the UK places in the Forbes rankings when it came to food banks usage.
