THE final weekend of fixtures in this year’s championship gets under way at lunchtime in Rome, where Italy will be hoping for a rare win against the French. Then coverage switches to Cardiff and the potential title decider between an in-form Wales side and last year’s Grand Slam winners Ireland. The final match of the day is the Calcutta Cup match at Twickenham where England will be looking for revenge after their surprise 25-13 defeat at the hands of the Scots at Murrayfield last year.

Match of the Day Live: The FA Cup, BBC1, 7.30pm

IT’S already been a memorable season for Wolverhampton Wanderers and their supporters. After securing promotion from the Championship last year, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have taken the Premier League by storm, pulling off victories against Spurs and Chelsea and creditable draws against the two Manchester clubs. Their opponents in the quarter-finals tonight are Manchester United, who have themselves produced two magnificent away performances in the previous two rounds to defeat Arsenal and Chelsea.

Trapped, BBC4, 9pm

THE second season of the Icelandic thriller reaches a gripping conclusion with a double bill. Andri has to contend with keeping Thorhildur (pictured) safe now she has handed the police the lead they desperately needed. But can he get her out of town before the killer realises what has happened? Then, having found the true reason for the chemical pollution at the lake, the identity of the killer finally becomes clear to Andri and Hinrika. However, they remain one step behind the villain and face a race against time to stop the people they love coming to even more harm.

The Jonathan Ross Show, STV, 9.30pm

THE host is joined by comedian Jack Whitehall, fresh from hosting this year’s Brit Awards and about to embark on his biggest ever stand-up tour of the UK. Also appearing this week are Countdown’s resident mathematician Rachel Riley and award-winning movie star Ralph Fiennes, soon to be making his third appearance alongside Daniel Craig in the forthcoming James Bond movie. Completing the guest list is American rapper Lizzo, whose third studio album is released next month and who will also be performing live in the studio.

The Queen Mum: The Lost Year, C5, 9.30pm

THE concluding part of the documentary looks into the difficult time faced by the Queen Mother following her husband George VI’s death in February 1952. From this crisis year, she emerged determined to reclaim her position as a powerful matriarch of the Windsor dynasty. She became Queen-maker to her daughter Elizabeth and fiercely protective grandmother to the heir apparent, Prince Charles.
