AN SNP MP yesterday pressed Theresa May to detail what she discussed with Alexander Nix, the former CEO of the controversial Cambridge Analytica firm when the two met in Downing Street in December 2016.

The consultant was involved in campaigns to help Leave.EU with its Brexit campaign, and Donald Trump in his bid to become US president.

In both those campaigns Cambridge Analytica used private information from more than 87 million Facebook users without permission.

Nix was also caught claiming his company was using honey traps, bribery stings, and prostitutes.

During Prime Minister’s Questions, SNP MP Deidre Brock asked the Tory leader why she had met Nix and why she had not kept a recording of the meeting.

“May I ask the Prime Minister whom Alexander Nix met in Downing Street, what the purpose of the meeting was and – most importantly –why it was not reported in the transparency data?” the Edinburgh North and Leith MP said.

The Prime Minister said that she would “look into” this.

Afterwards, Brock tweeted: “We should be told who is getting privileged access to the heart of government in London.”
