SKYE Live returns in September with a celebratory line-up as it marks its fifth anniversary.

It will be their biggest festival yet, following the new addition of an opening concert on Thursday, September 5, featuring legendary folk-rockers The Waterboys who will be playing their first gig on the Misty Isle in nearly 30 years.

Fresh from their Celtic Connections-conquering 1900-capacity sell-out show at Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom, local heroes Niteworks will head a line-up on Friday, September 6, featuring some of the UK’s most exciting trad artists.

They will be joined by Elephant Sessions, winners of the Scottish Traditional Music Awards Album of the Year 2018, and the incredibly talented Lau, four times winners of BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Group.

The mesmerising sounds of SIAN, featuring three of Scotland’s finest young Gaelic singers in Eilidh Cormack, Ellen MacDonald and Ceitlin LR Smith, will feature, performing their own set and their stunning collaboration with Niteworks, Air Fàir an Là.

Saturday, September 7, sees the mighty Peatbog Faeries play a very rare homecoming gig, their first in five years. They’ll be joined by the West Coast’s all-conquering folk-pop quartet Tide Lines, former Scottish Trad Music Award live act of the year winners Rura and all-female folk game-changers The Poozies.

The dream-pop sounds of Ireland’s Martha Ffion will also be in attendance, alongside Glasgow singer-songwriter Riley.

Dance music afficionados will also be catered for by the likes of Optimo and Leon Vynehall.
