The National:

THE Prime Minister's contempt for EU citizens living in Scotland is clear.

There's the plan to enforce a £30,000 earnings minumum for EU migrants after Brexit, the Home Office unfairly attempting to deport EU citizens who are legally allowed to be here and the EU nationals having to register to stay in Scotland.

This last point was brought up at PMQs this afternoon by Ian Blackford who referenced the case of Tove Macdonald who has lived in Scotland for almost 60 years.

An STV interview with Macdonald revealed she was brought up under Nazi occupation in Denmark before moving to Scotland.

Describing this as a "disgrace", Blackford said "Tove has children, she has grandchildren, she has married in Scotland, she has friends here, she has built her life here ... Why is the Prime Minister making Tove register after almost 60 years? Will she end this heartless policy?"

"Will the Prime Minister tell Tove, tell all EU citizens who've come to the UK to work, to live and to love that the UK is their home without precondition?"

Incapable of seeing the human impact of Brexit, May said: "We have consistently said to EU citizens that have come here who have been living here for many many years, as in the example that was given, and those who have come here more recently, we recognise the contribution they have made to our society, we recognise the contribution they have made to our economy."

As Tory MPs shouted "just register", May added that the Westiminster Government "wants EU citizens to stay" and said their rights have been put "at the front of negotiations with the European Union".

Forcing EU citizens to register to continue living in Scotland is a strange way to show they are welcome here.
