Call the Cleaners, STV, 7.30pm

THE domestic hygiene series returns for a new run and in the first offering cleaners Yvonne and Angela have been called to a job in Southend.

After three decades of collecting second-hand objects and knick-knacks, the owner’s house is so full, she has been sleeping in the garden shed for the past six years. The sisters have four days to clear enough space for her to get back in her flat. Meanwhile in Luton, Maxine and Jasmine tackle the flat of 37-year-old Chris. He stopped cleaning and looking after his property following the death of his partner.

How the Other Kids Live, C4, 8pm

THIS series had the working title Postcode Playdates, which, combined with the current name, should give you a rough idea of the concept. It sees children who live in the same area but who have different cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds coming together for playdates and spending an afternoon in each other’s homes. The first to host their new potential friends are nine-year-old twins Tom and Billy, who live in a large house on an affluent street. Billy is a playdate veteran but Tom, who was born with Down’s syndrome, has never experienced one. They’ll be meeting Brendan, who lives with his single mum and three siblings.

This Time Next Year, STV, 8pm

DAVINA McCall gives members of the public a chance to set themselves a deeply personal challenge and records their progress as they seek to complete it in 12 months. The series kicks off with a weight-loss special featuring people looking to transform their health for the better.
