Want to show support for Scottish independence while recognising that life is ultimately futile and meaningless? Then there's an indy-backing group for you.

Nihilists for Independence, the collective that campaigns for Scottish autonomy "whilst we gaze into the abyss", have launched a brand new merchandise store.

If you're looking to fill that hole of cold, cold despair with material goods, the store offers t-shirts and mugs sporting phrases such as "The End (of the United Kingdom) Is Nigh" and "Optimism Cancelled".

Each product comes with the inspirational slogan "It Doesn't Matter. Nothing Matters".

These objects may have no meaning or intrinsic value, but they will give you a fresh look for the next independence march you attend.

The merchandise has already found an audience online, with the Nihilists for Indy twitter account stating: "We're overwhelmed by the response to our merch. Its going like hotcakes. To all of our fans who have bought an item, huge thanks to both of you Gran and Uncle Fred."

While we have no true way of knowing if concrete objects exist in our universe, we're still willing to give these t-shirts a chance.

Not that it matters. Nothing matters.
