AN SNP MP has raised the case of an LGBT asylum seeker, an exclusive story broken by The National, in Parliament.

Chris Stephens, who represents Glasgow South West, asked whether the case of Isabella Katjiparatijivi – a 29-year-old from Namibia who is seeking asylum fearing that she faced persecution in her home country because of her sexuality – is the UK Government's "hostile environment in action".

He further asked Immigration Minister Caroline Nokes would meet him urgently to discuss the matter.

Nokes replied that she would meet with Stephens adding that it would be "inappropriate" to comment on the floor of the House.
