ANTI-nuclear campaigners will brief MSPs tomorrow on their concerns about the safety of two reactors at the Hunterston B nuclear power plant in North Ayrshire.

Reactors 3 and 4 have been offline since March and October respectively after cracks were found during a routine inspection. Operators EDF hope to gain approval for their re-opening

in the spring.

The Nuclear Free Local Authorities (NFLA) will give the Scottish Parliament briefing, which will be chaired by Green MSP Ross Greer. He said: “Long-running safety and job concerns from the community around Hunterston have increased significantly.”
