Back in Time for School, BBC2, 8pm

FIFTEEN teenagers and three teachers go on a time-travelling adventure through 100 years of school history. Led by presenter Sara Cox and social historian Polly Russell, they fast-forward through seven different eras, taking them to the end of the 20th century. They begin in Victorian times, where they find out what life was like for the 4% of children able to attend school. Education was still seen as a preserve of the rich but a handful of schools were starting to offer affordable places to ordinary families.

The Cruise: Shanghai to Sydney, STV, 8.30pm

DOCUMENTARY set on board the Majestic Princess, which is capable of carrying 3500 guests and has a crew of 1400, including a few familiar faces from past series. The cruise ship, under the leadership of captain Dino and hotel general manager Jasper, will travel from Australia and New Zealand to Hong Kong and Singapore, with an equator-crossing party along the way. This route represents new ground for the company and creates more than its fair share of navigational challenges.

21 Kids and Counting, C4, 9pm

AS regular viewers of this occasional documentary series will know, Noel and Sue Radford from the seaside town of Morecambe in Lancashire love children – because they’ve just had their 21st. Daughter Bonnie Raye was born in November and she makes her appearance, some of her older siblings are dealing with other issues, such as learning to drive and choosing a career.

Island of Dreams, BBC2, 10pm

ONE-OFF comedy, starring Harry Enfield. Necker Island has white sands, turquoise sea and girls in bikinis serving drinks. It also has Sir Richard Branson helping to solve the problems of celebrity guests, from JK Rowling and Adele to Daniel Radcliffe and Daniel Craig, while they enjoy some well-deserved luxury. But does the tycoon have a more important masterplan – a dark secret involving interplanetary travel?
