NICOLA Sturgeon has taken to Twitter to call out the leader of the Labour Party after he backtracked on no-confidence motion suggestions.

Earlier today, sources had reported that Jeremy Corbyn planned to table a no-confidence motion in the Prime Minister if she failed to set a date for the delayed "meaningful" Brexit deal vote.

But after Theresa May announced the vote would take place during the week beginning January 14, Corbyn failed to bring his no-confidence plans to fruition.

The Labour leader instead opted to take credit for the May setting a date.

The First Minister tweeted: "Woeful. This shambles of a government is driving the UK towards disaster, and the official opposition seems content to just stand back and watch."

The motion had been to set out "that this House has no confidence in the Prime Minister due to her failure to allow the House of Commons to have any meaningful vote straight away on the Withdrawal Agreement and framework for the future relationship between the UK and the EU".
