The National:

AS Scotland's only pro-independence daily newspaper, we're accustomed to having a far greater fight than any other to get our message out there.

Whether it's Unionists hiding us on the newsstands, or requiring 6000 retweets to appear on the TV news reviews, it's a battle the Yes movement is familiar with.

So our thanks to Angus Robertson, who made sure that Scotland's voice was heard on the European stage.

The former SNP Westminster leader was appearing on a German public TV discussion of Theresa May, the Brexit chaos and Scottish independence in Europe.

He read out the headlines of the UK's newspapers, including our own, summing up the mood in the country.

The National:

That was the front page that so angered Tory MSP Jamie Greene – who would rather we softened our language on a UK Government responsible for such policies as the rape clause and hostile environment.

"Cowardice. Shambolic. Disaster. Failure. Shameful. Incompetent. Clusterbourach." Even the latter word, Robertson found a German version of.

The hosts of the show seemed somewhat more impressed, however. Probably because it is only UK Tories who could grumble about any of those words being used to describe Theresa May's government.

Robertson also pointed out that 62% in Scotland voted to remain in the EU. Europe knows it, and the stability of the Scottish Government in comparison to Westminster will be speaking volumes.

The time will come for Scotland to make the most of that fact.
