SCOTTISH nurses have dived headlong into a festive fundraising drive for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Kidney Kids Scotland’s renal appeal.

Six specialists from the city’s Royal Hospital for Children donned festive costumes for the annual Santa bungee jump.

Vicki Harkins, 31, from Uddingston, was one of the lucky six to join in with the charity leap, organised in partnership with the Catherine McEwan Foundation at the Riverside Museum.

The renal appeal aims to raise £500,000 to improve care and services at the renal unit at the children’s hospital in Glasgow

– a centre of excellence for children from across Scotland with kidney failure.

Harris said: “Jumping was a bit like being at work. We do everything as a team, and couldn’t do it without each other! It was easy to jump thinking of all our families affected by renal disease.”
